Looks good what are your plans for it apart from the L28ET? Drive It....................LOL..........i will do that for a while anyway. The Engine that is going in has a American P90 head and block, I am not sure what the turbo is, I will post pics eventually. I have a button clutch in my other car that I will be putting in, also a close ratio 5 speed racing box. Strut bars front and rear, lowered springs and maybe new suspension, 4 wheel disk brakes as well possibly off a Z32. A respray after 2 years and the installation of a half cage.

Nice purchase, so are you going to put the flares on? I want a set for mine at some stage so I can run some wider rubber.
Will you leave it that colour? I reckon they look awesome in red when they're done properly.
Pitty you didn't get the yellow one if it went for only $8,500 but this one looks like a very good buy too. Definately a better body than the yellow one.

The yellow one went for $9000 and had bog in the quater panels and doors. also some in the floor.
I think this one is a better buy for $7000. No rust holes.
I will keep it the same colour for a while except I may paint the spoiler like you have yours, with the black strip down the middle continuing off the hood.
I could ask him how much he wants for the flares and bring them back to tassie for you scando.

That would be great if you could ask him how much he wants for the flares. If he wants to get rid of them cheap I'll take them off his hands

How much are you willing to pay?
I reckon I will take them as part of the car.
He decided not to sell, but I offered him $9000 with the mikunis with a fresh rebuild and tune which is being done now.
A fuel injected head and inlet manifold, also for $9000 I am going to ask for a new carpet that he has got and a few other goodies.

Up to $100. If it's any more than that I'll just get a set of Ash (zr240 on AusZCar) if I decide I want to do it. I got my rear spoiler off him and he was great to deal with.
So what's the plan? Buy the lot and then sell off the Mikunis when you put the L28ET in?

I am not doing anything with the car now. The f**king cock head decided not to sell again. I don't really blame him the 260Z is better than the FORD crap he has. I am on the hunt yet again, I have not bagged him on the auszcar site and will not. If this shell is good I may look at this including the megasquirt computer www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2356.0.html FARK I AM PISSED OFF. MONEY IN THE BANK AND NO ONE TO TAKE IT. FFS

Bugger. That yellow one looks alright but it would depend on how much rust it has.
I haven't had anything to do with megasquirt but from what I can understand it's very basic and you could do much better for the $$$'s he's asking

I was thinking of offering $6500 for the yellow one and maybe $7500 with the megasquirt and a few other goodies.
I am going to see if sulio will check it out for me.
Do you think I am offering the right amount (rust pending)?

If the rust isn't too bad then it would be a cheap buy at that price. But like I said, I'd leave the megasquirt alone. What engine management did you have on your L28ET previously? Megasquirt is fuel only isn't it? He's asking $1K for it and for a little bit more you could get a brand new Microtech which will control your ignition too.

My L28ET has a standard computer.
On HybridZ they rave on and on about the megasquirt.
I have seen those EMS computers go for less than a grand on ebay with in cabin controller. That may be the go.

Like I said, I haven't used megasquirt but it sounds very basic from what I've read about it. I think everybody raves about it on HybridZ cause it's American isn't it? And it's cheap. The guy that tunes my car said he could get me a Microtech for about $1K at mates rates so I think I'll go that way when the time comes. I've noticed a lot of cars lately with EMS computers including that yellow L28ET powered car you were looking at on EBay. I'd like to find out if they're any good because the prices seem excellent.

megasquirt are not known so well in aus. I am guessing most people in tas that do this sort of work would mostly work with microtech or some other. I would probably be better off sticking with something they have delt with before.

As far as i've gathered in the little i know about them people buy them because they are cheap as u said scando, but people like building themselves and having a go at tuning, brad sherif at boost automotive is pretty well known and he is supposed to love haltechs, microtechs do the job and seem to be a little cheaper, around the 1k mark off the net when i last looked, they have all the features you would need, problem is you gotta buy them to suit your motor a mate bought one and sent it back to get it changed from 202 to rb30 and cost him $400!

A mate of mine runs an EMS in an SR20 1600 it also has the remote in car digital pad... IT GOES HARD AND THE ENGINE IS STILL GOING.
Obviously works, I am not sure what the tuning capacity is but I am sure it is adequate. My mate bought it installed in the car but does not touch it.
If anyone in TAS has had experience hooking one of these systems up, it may be a good thing.

I'll ask him about it next time I see him.
