i don't know whether anyone else has ever encountered this but my 120 wagon has always been a real bitch in the mornings especially with a weber and no choke, although lately it just wouldn't warm up so i assumed the thermostat was buggered. but today i pulled off the housing (which was also leaking) and there was no thermostat!! in the 2 years or so that i've owned it, its never had one, pretty weird.

People usually take them out if the engine is running hot. But yes it should have one.

Yeah thats makes sense, its runs so much better with one in there though and never goes over half way on the gauge. oh and thanks again for the guard i got it looking basically new with a little bit of bog and paint haha now i've gotta make the rest of the car match the guard. Cheers.
