Good drive Rob. It's always important to put it in on the Navigators side!! It really is a fantastic venue for this type of event, fun tight roads, no transports, close servicing and action all day for the crews, spectators and offical's. Great event....
You just need a suitable cage now and some more neddies...I'd be saving flat out and try and do a couple of State rounds next year? The more km's you do, the faster you go!!
Did you beat Brooksy in his Cruiser??

Great to see it was a good day had by all. I do have two questions though? how does one win driver of the day when you bend it? and get beaten by the sweep in a 2.5 ton Landcruiser? But seriously well done to all. ;D

FYI: Bluerat - it is NOT a good thing to put it in on the navigators side!! I am definately putting a sign on the side of the car for the next rally saying something like: IN CASE OF ACCIDENT
RESCUE NAVIGATOR FIRST

How do you hear about these come try for a day rallys? I would be interested in the next one for sure. What did you need to compete??

Easy Josh, Just keep an eye on this sight www.nwcctas.org.au there are no more this year but we have planned two for next year. To compete, you need to be a member of a CAMS club, the NWCC is great..., and you will need the basic 2S CAMS licence, club membership is around $45 a year and the licence is $85 ( I think, less than $100 anyway,I've got the $280 one yuk!!), oh yeah and a Navigator with the same paperwork, a nerve of steel, sharp mind, and a working watch!! Your car needs rego, and is subjected to a tough..ish Scrut which your brakes, ball joints etc etc etc are checked, It's really just a check on how safe the car is. You will also need 2Kg's of fire extin., A first aid kit, Safety triangles ( for if you crash or break down) neat and tidy body work and the car to be in good general condition, oh yeah a sumpguard is a good idea as well, and everyone know's Datsuns make the best rally cars!!. Is there anything else DatsLTD?? If you like this sort of thing there are other events called Khanacross's, which are a ripper, you can do them on the same licence and car as above. What are they?? think Motocross track without the jumps etc and one car at a time, great fun. There are tracks at Latrobe, behind the speedway track, Launceton, Behind the Drag strip, and Slobart near the Airport. Keep an eye on the NW off road club and NWCC for Latrobe, Motorsports CC for Powranna, and 500CC for Hobart., with a 2S licence you can also do Hillclimbs, Motokhanas, clubdays at Symmons and Baskerville etc etc etc great value...Hope this helps any more question's??? Oh yeah, the next step in the Tas Rally Series, 5 rounds all around the State, you need the expensive licence, as above, a log booked roll cage and car, Clown Suit's and Poofter boots, fancy seats and harnesss, terratrip etc etc etc, great fun but...........

You should come up for a run next year Scando, I'm sure Wombat would love to Navagate?? I doubt it, he's seen me drive before ;D I'm keen for it though. As long as the Bluebird is going when the next one comes around (so that I don't have to be using the Skyline as a daily driver) then I reckon I'll make the trip up.

I would glady navigate for you Scando and I like your driving style. I would kill to go for a lap or two in the Z car if it had a extra seat as well. Now where did I put my helmet and what were did those rally symbols mean again ( been a few years).

Sounds good. Give us a bit of warning when the next one is coming up so I've got time to prepare and I'll come up. Oh, and the Z car does have an extra seat that can be easily bolted in
