Alrighty, here's a new thread. This was my 3rd 1600 racer, and yep that is a brand new paint job, first time out of the shed...very bald race tyres, bog dust, first rain after a long summer, less than 60km/h and a bank... and no,I wasn't playing up at all. My poor brother had just taken 3 weeks off work to fix the body and paint it, came up real nice too....sad but true. Dont worry, it worked out ok, That man Wombat found me another shell, and It's all back on track...Oh yeah, the crashed car, I was the 3rd owner, less than 100,000miles, a real sweety. Got any hard luck stories....

I bent my first car (an R30 skyline) real bad thanks to a rather large cement colvert. It put the right rear wheel clean through the back of the car and bent the thing like a banana. Pitty, cause it was a very straight car. I'll see if I can find the photos and put them up.
Wombat told me the story of your 1600 on the weekend. That would have really sucked after all that work!

There was one in the weekend Examiner or Saterdays Advocate, caged out ready to go. Also have a look in the For sale section on this fine forum, there is an excellent one in Launceston.

Nasty, did you hurt yourself?? Here's another one of mine........Don't Rally on road tyres!!!! Being a tight A#@se doesn't pay in the long run.....Slipped sideway's off a bridge, into a creek, freaked my poor navigator out, and I had to get a new one for the next event. It fixed up O.K not like your's.....

Bluerat here they are I think you may have been at every one. I have a few pic's from the last 5 years of rallying here are a few from the last state round had a bit on ended up hitting about 8 young pine trees could have finished if not for the broken castor rod but you need a bit more than a jump and a sum XMAS trees to kill our RAT. will post some more later Front guard was from a small off in the first stage Skidded on the stone tray for about 30 feet before heading into the trees

Bluerat: Another one! How many 1600's have you had?!?!?! I don't blame your navigator, it'd be the worst job I could think of. I like having the steering wheel in my hands No, I wasn't hurt at all in that crash. Luckily I hit the colvert with the back end of the car and not the front. The hole where the right tail light belongs is where the rear wheel decided to exit the car! BMS510: I agree with Tom that is insane! Why didn't you continue on though, it's only a bit of tow in

nice stunt. my mates and i used to have a 180b wagon bushbasher. we got this kind of scary nose down air often. scared the shit out of me! gravity reminded us the motor was in the front. we jumped a dam wall once and ended up balanced on the tailgate with the nose of the car straight up in the air!! no pics though.

Balders, you are a legend!! I should dig out all the other doofed Datsun photo's from that jump!! does running 300mm toe in help your turn in?? I've scored a back corner if you still need one?? Now come on Scando, navigating is not that bad!! in fact, if your with the right crew it's a lot of fun! As for 1600's I have only had 7, and I picked up no.8 this afternoon!!! my Wife locked the doors to the house, and is still not talking to me!! Ha Ha, I think 3 1600's equal's 2 horses dont you??? Better take her out for fancy dinner and some flowers. Do you have this problem BMS ??

ONLY 8! I take it you like them just a little bit then. Oh well if she won't let you back inside you can just take turns sleeping in the back seat of your three 1600's. ;D

I pretended to shiver, and used my big puppy dog eyes, whilst looking in the window, to win her over, mind you she didn't help me unload it. None of the 3 car's in stock have back seat's so lucky this worked!! Yes one day I plan to open a museum, bit like the one at Bathurst, but only 1600's and associated rare equipment, like bumper bar over riders, metric speedo's, and metal glove box lids. People will come from all around the world to be amazed, I may also travel this fine land of ours doing display laps and supermarket openings. I think there is a gap in the market! As a Financial Adviser do you see this working?, and any one out there wanting to invest in this scheme, please dont hesitate to give me a call!

Yes it will work, maybe if you had a few two door versions it would be a gold mine........

Sorry, purple 200b's would not attract the right type of crowd, maybe 'Pimp my ride' might be a better place for your type? mind you a 2 door 1600 would be a star attraction.....although I have a red and white passenger door that would be a bigger attraction!

Sorry, the person with the Purple 200b's name is on it, thus making it a top attraction, as he is very famous on the coast, well Burnie anyway.
I've got a two door model, and a coupe model, they will be as close as I will get to owning one!!! as for the limo, isnt the Bluebird the "First 4 cylinder Limo"??

Yes I think you're onto something there. Maybe you could take the angle grinder to one, turn it into a convertible and take retired footballers for parade laps. Or Maybe you could somehow stick all your parts together in various arangements call it "art" and cash in. You'll never have to work again You need a wife as understanding as my mates girlfriend. He just bought an Aussie Legend race car and his girlfriend is travelling around Australia with him in a caravan next year so he can do the full series!
