I am super keen on restoring a 1600 to group Nc spec, I know of a completely stripped down shell with not a nut/bolt/screw/panel on it, sand blasted and ready to start restoring, the delema is then finding all the other parts to build it back up without having to buy a whole donor car, or do I try and find a cheap rusty/damaged nearly complete donor car now, strip it down and start from there? I am sure there are a few people out there that have been through a total restore and all your thoughts are apreciated.
Cheers Julian.

Finding parts one by one will do your head in and cost you a fortune. I'd say unless you can find a donor car for the rest of the parts then leave it alone. Just my 2 cents

I second that. I was lucky to have what = 10 1600s to pick at when doing mine up. Still a few things I am not happy with too! Still got loads of bits.... Pitty the 720 has gone.

All opinions appreciated. Rintins shell is so tempting to get to work straight away on, I could use the blue clubcar as the donor but having to much fun with that and it has history so I dont really want to touch it.
Yeah, 720 parts car left on wednesday, pity to see them go as they have treated me very well. But 2 cars out of the yard makes the missus happy, and a happy missus might not mind another 1600 turning up, so the plan goes.
