I got my Haltech on line today! ;D ;D after stuffing around for ages on the laptop with com ports and crap (dattos werent meant to be like that ) !!! its alive !!! all the sensors work, the throttle sensor is calibrated, the trigger from the coil works fine the wideband display works too! i was expecting a whole lot of problems (i always do and it rarely happens) BUT there was fuel pissing out of some of the threads on the fuel rail though , so i cant start it until thats sorted.

Fuel leaks fixed, but my Throttle position sensor isnt smart enough, i need a proper rotaty potentiometer TPS from a vehicle with a MAP based EFI system. anyone got any v6 commodores?

now its really alive! starts and idles fine, no load ranges done to 3500rpm. and i drove it down the driveway and back !! yeah! but Lots of work still to be done. wideband works too. I did have problems though, it needs more and better earths than the old efi, low voltage from battery/alternator makes sensors go mental, ign trigger wire needs to have a grounded shield. went back to the stock FPR, big injectors dont need the malpassi. the maps produced by the software are REALLY RICH, rich enough to run the space shuttle. and it sounds way better than before, SOUNDS LIKE POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone i I found spray painting harder than building an entire Haltech EFI system! just shows how my brain works Paint has a few dry spots on it, still learning to use the gun= thanks Clyde, shimmed that 4.1 yet? John give me a call if you want to come out, ive still got that 120y sedan if you need some bits off it.

Finally got some more time to work on the coop
I have been working on the Haltech, fitted a fuel trim knob ( +/- 12% very useful!) got it to idle cold properly as well, didnt need the stepper motor, which is good cos i removed it. went back to BP6 plugs the BP7s were fouling up too much.
If all goes well i should make it to Ross.

Tuning the Haltech continues, just when you think youve unleashed some horsepower, theres even more power to be had!
I increased my "throttle pump" function and richened the high load bars above 4500 rpm. I also changed the shape of my full throttle map to give more mixture again at high RPM and adjusted (retarded 2 deg) the valve timing. I have really unleashed the beast this time.
But now i have some kind of voltage drop problem at idle. It doesnt want to run the fans and the engine at the same time. there is a voltage compensation map which increases injector opening time at low voltage but im not supposed to change it according to the Haltech. I already run a 60amp IC reg alternator, maybe its on the way out. But it goes really fast!!
