jturn180: I've gota go and see a bloke named Snip soon and he's got a heap of stuff; that's where I got my engine and the twins. I'll ask him if there's another A15, but 1000nd might know, I think Snips building him a hot A15 for his 1000. I've got spare A10 engine and lotsa bits if anyone wants a decrease in power...ha ha. 1000nd: Have you got a set of surrounds off Ebay that I could have a look at?

jturn180: Snip doesn't have a complete A15, he's got a few motors but he reckons that the cranks he's got are stuffed.

Craig1000 does snip happen to have any N10 Pulsars up there? Also does he still have the old Isuzu Bellet there?

Wouldn't know an N10 Pulsar from an N9......an Isuzu Bellet, can you spell that for me? I'll ask him when I swing by with the ute; he hasn't seen the beast yet. Looks like Snip knew those carb's of his, they bolted up and ran a treat, just like he said they would......actually he said "don't f'n touch em, you'll just f'n f em up and f'n ruin em; you young blokes don't know nothin about em".

"don't f'n touch em, you'll just f'n f em up and f'n ruin em; you young blokes don't know nothin about em". ;D he he sounds like SU's to me. i helped a bloke rejet a 32/36 weber for his A14 1200 coupe the other day and it goes WAY faster than my A14 with SU's. but doesnt have the torque or fuel economy mine gets. interesting comparison.

Fuel economy... Dirty words when used in build threads

It is an interesting comparison, but I don't think I could be without the twins. Drove the car on it's maiden voyage y'day and it drive's sweeeet! Good flexibility in the donk, will cruise at 2000 rpm without pig rooting and then really wants to go when you put your foot down. Only revved it to 4500 so far and won't really test it until after the first oil change in a couple of weeks. New exhaust tomorrow and then back on the road, so give me a wave if you see the gold ute out and about.

Always had current rego cause 'the man' would probably black flag me if i put it over the pits. Too soon for Hobart, needs a tune and a bit more work. Put new eye lids on today, I've adapted Morris 1500 headlight surrounds to fit in with the custom grill. That and the bespoke rear end should confuse the punters. I'll take some real photos soon and post them on the site.

Pictures or you tell lies - show the eyelids I'm so kicking myself for letting the MK1 rego go...

Here's the new front, headlight surrounds still need some tweaking into line but otherwise I like the new look. Attachments:

"Coupla weeks" ha! Yes I'm still f'ing round with the engine. All was going well, running great and then mega backfires through the carbs and the exhaust. Then once stopped it wouldn't start again. Fuel was pissing in so I pulled the carbs off, desmogged them and cleaned everything spotless. New float needles and gaskets from Melbourne (one of the float needle springs snapped). Threw the carbs back on and.....nothin. Same problem, too much fuel. Finally after much head scratching a friend of a friend diagnosed and f'd coil. Seems that irregular spark was failing to ignite the fuel. So back on the road for a run out to Westbury on Sunday and then on with the disk break conversion for the front.

How you doin Dan? Had to cancel the Westbury run cause my mate (chief mechanic and twirler of spanners) had something else on. Neil's spoken of you before, so I'll get your address/mob of him and drop in some time. I work out at Westbury so can catch up with you almost anytime; once the car's back on the road.

Hey guys, I'm back on the forum after a long break, so I'll have a lot of catching up to do. I've been preoccupied with a new little girl and new house. A bit of a tip for anyone who's interested: don't have a baby, build a house and try to complete a project car. Something's gotta give and in my case it was the ute; and it's still not finished! Anyway it's got a new heavy duty clutch kit and A15 gearbox. I'll post some images later.
