In the past I've just undone the nut, given it a squirt with CRC etc, and gave it a wiggle, off she came!! a puller might be just the thing if it is tight?

a LIGHT tap with a hammer outwards (towards driver) on opposite sides of the wheel can help free sticky ones

Generally if its tight its also advisable to loosen the nut but leave it in place so when the wheel suddenly lets go you don't end up wearing it in the face. Many a black eye or blood nose has been caused by this phenomenon...
