this is my new cedric , it has front discs and used to have an L motor in it with 5 sp. ive got no pics of my other one but this one is better. and it cost me NOTHING ;D some cedrics had L20A engines (2ltr 6cyl OHC 120 hp) most had J20 pushrod sixes (also 2ltr 108 hp) this one will probably end up with one of my EFI L24 (108 KW) engines in it. wheels are early falcon 5 stud, anyone got any big fat 12 slotters?

That is one sweet looking car. Im thinking how good would it be to have one of the Cherrys done up as a race car and a Cedric as the tow vehicle. both painted in the same colour (maybe Datsun racing livery). If only I had the time, money, and space for more cars.

it just keeps getting better the car has custom steel flared gaurds, all bodywork done by a professional. it has a 4.1 diff and C210 front discs and calipers (no lines). it used to have a L20b with a 720 ute sump and a sss dog leg 5 speed, all the mounts ect are still in it as is the tailshaft. the hole for the dog box floor shift should be ok for an R30 short box with an L24E. oh and it was painted by inmates at risdon prison!!

ive pulled out all the remains of the interior. and the seats are welded to the floor! the R30 came with a nissan patrol sump which will let my Lsix clear the X member. just like lego

On the weekend i pulled my 260 block out of the graveyard. took it home and put it on an engine stand. i took it to bits to short motor, had to take off front cover and do the timing chain ect from scratch as someone cocked it up in the past and put an extra mark on the crank pulley.
then nissan patrol sump and oil pickup + L24E fuel injected head =L26E engine. the original cedric engine mounts bolt straight up, even the tailshaft spline is exactly the same. it should be in at easter!
this project will get finished! its Just like lego

you just have to trim your lego a bit, and get the right other bits.to go with it. whats holding you up anyway? have you sold the 120y yet?

Cedric engine is in!! ;D ;D engine and gearbox mounts go straight on! it was a bit tight though, paint scraped off top of firewall and the crank pulley bent the radiator support a bit. the engine sits a bit high at the front, like an l20b in a 1200. ill have to fix that so the bonnet will fit, i dont want any ugly mods to the bonnet. the sump and steering cross rod have plenty of room. i can probably lower the engine mount bolt holes about 1.5 cm and it will be sweet. . youll have to use your imaginations until i can get some pics, but its one "L" of a motor ;D

Inspiration; www.rs-watanabe.co.jp/underpage/photogallery2/dai/cedric.htmI know they're all sedans , but fat old jap wheels and slammage = win all round. Cedrics rock. When my old man had a motorbike shop in Victoria, before we moved into the factory/shed the owner was storing 4 130 cedric sedans and wagons in one corner (alongside a bedford mounted crane and some hotdog vans - yeah big shed).

holy crap thats cool Floody!! these are later models than mine = 68 and onwards with the different grille. mine look more like 1600;s with the twin headlights. That first one, lowered, huge fats (simmons wheels?) is an absolute pisser i cant belive they got raced, they do have wishbone front ends but they are so heavy and underpowered.

Reading that page, it says they were running a 3 litre motor of some description in the race one, and at the time it was the 5th fastest car around Tsukuba circuit. It was sponsored by a Taxi company!
Wheels on the gold one would be Japanese SSR Mesh.

For the first time i can find a bit of cedric that i can buy brand new! everything else is no longer listed in those books of parts that people look in when you go to buy a bit of datto. its an optional factory 3 core radiator! just have to get the in and out swapped over for the l motor. needed custom tanks and filler neck. fits perfectly! clutch hydraulics are in
