Went in a khanacross yesterday at Cambridge, next to the airport. Nice and slippery, easy on the car and sooooo much fun. Cost $70 all up, plus $5 all you can eat bbq lunch. Next event is in 2 weeks time - Sunday 21/2/10 9.30am briefing. BE THERE IN YOUR DATSUN or family car!!! Links below. Will be new supp regs out shortly, but most likely be identical to regs posted for the 7/2 event. Basically vehicles are checked for brakes, steering and suspension condition as well as for general driver safety items. Battery Terminals must be covered with a thick rubber mat. Fire extinguisher brackets must be bolted not screwed to the car. Drivers of cars without a windscreen must wear eye protection whilst competing. All cars must be fitted with at least lap/sash seats belts. Drivers must wear approved helmets, long sleeved shirts, long trousers and adequate footwear. Road tyres only. I'm driving the white 1600 in the picture link below. www.tasrally.com.au/forum/viewforum.php?f=10&sid=7d029236134f81dd91d2e0d45290d7b9 gallery.me.com/brad.gunn#100251

Hi Julian. You will need a CAMS licence - I think you can get them on the day (I am checking and awaiting a reply back). $50 per year for a 2NS (non speed - khanacrosses/motokanas) or $95 per year if you want to do Baskerville/Symmons Plains club days as well. I have a clubman rally licence for $140 so I can do the Tas Rally Series as well. If only doing the khanacross series, just get the annual $50 licence. www.cams.com.au/Common/Appendix%20R.aspxSo total cost would be $50 for CAMS full year licence, $60 entry, $10 day club membership ($55 full year), $5 food. Please read the regs below for more. Would imagine the following sup regs will be identical, just with a date change. Basically you will need a fire extinguisher (1kg with bracket bolted down. I put mine in front of the passenger's seat on the seat bracket - easy and out of the way), a full or open face helmet, road tyres and cover the positive side of the battery. Remember full length clothing. stuff.johnnysmultimedia.com/suppregs/19599S.pdfRegister with the rally website and keep an eye on the khanacross tab. There will be a new topic up this week with regs and entry form. Or if you want to come and have a look just turn up and watch. I'll be in the white 1600; so just say hello. All welcome. If competing need to be out there before 9.30am. www.tasrally.com.au/forum/Cheers Mark

Apparently non 500 car club members will get a $10 discount off the entry fee (but pay $10 for day membership); so the club membership is effectively at zero cost.
You will be able to get CAMS licences on the day at the event.

22 entries. Had perfect weather and heaps of fun.
My brother-in-law Marcus had a go in my 1600 and lost it a few times, which was entertaining. Good to see Clyde out there in his very tidy 1600 for a look.
Next event is on Sunday 21st March. Round 3. All welcome.
