As the topic suggests, i need a mechanic. I just bought a 180b with no rego. It's in good nick and everything i just need a roadworthy cert. Is anyone or does anyone know a reasonable mechanic in the hobart area that would good to see about a roady? also, how does service tas work with rego'ing old cars? im from vic and studying down here so unsure. Thanks in advance

Is this the orange sss? If so I know the car. If it is all roadworthy any where EXCEPT the RACT! would be OK. they would fail a brand new car the pricks! I do them at my work, but they charge much more than other places. As for Service TAS. As long as it passes the inspection and you can prove you own the car it is as easy as paying your rego plus a bit extra for the new plates. If older than 30 years as this car is and you don't want to drive more than 52 days in the year you can opt for SI rego I just put my 1600 on SI and it is around $250 for the year. Cheers, Clyde.

pretty sure truck biz arent doing them anymore.. i've seen the 180b too, been sitting there for awhile! good to see someone is getting it back on the road. Recommed trying for a r/w at the nearest place to where the car is at, they are pretty good.

i love how i said i bought a 180b, not even a sss and everyone knows of the car. love tassie!
gordie, its currently in breadsdale and the closest in some place concected to a celtex or mobile or something. i'm planning on bringing it home to battery point so would like someone close. maybe that "bob and tom" place on sandy bay rd? they seems to have a few cars in there including a vintage jag and merc. any thoughts?
