Great looking car! The engine and drive line is pretty much the same as mine except I have a 72' cam with 45s. The 76' cam maybe a little pote for a torqueie 2l for street use. My opinion though. Easy fixed if you found to be so.
I have been watching this car too. Don't worry I'm not buying it! I think you should though! It is a lot to pay for a 1600 but I doubt you would get any change out of that money if you did one up to that standard yourself.
If true, the fact it was restored 10 years ago is a good sign of a solid body under the paint.
If you do buy it keep in mind one of my wrecks has the early style dash with all the bits if you need any switches etc.
Good luck and keep us posted. Clyde

On the face of it, it looks like a nice car, but a bit expensive IMO. Yes it would cost you more to build.
Depends how desperate you are for a 1600. I bought one here in Hobart about 8 months ago similar for $4500 with 6 months rego, but has a single weber not twin and a 4 speed gearbox. The engine was a professionally built, balanced 2 litre, extractors, electronic ignition, good recaro type seats, good paint work (small rust above rear wheel), generally a good body. I have since put a 5 speed in it, adjustable camber/caster, new tyres.
Yes I might have just got a good deal.
I would say the car on ebay is worth $6000 - $8000 depending on condition.
Hope that helps.
