Hop to it tracspec!! get out on the track!! Next event is the Hellyer Rally, then the Minna Rd Hillclimb. Round two of the State hillclimb Champs are in there as well in early August at Baskerville. The Kart track is a great venue, lots of fun and it really suits the smaller cars. Notice no Wombat? ? where was the Cherry??

I would have given my left nut to have been there Bluerat but they are clamping down on holiday use at work no more 1 or 2 days off. You have to take a full 4day block off.
Tell the guys with the 1000 I have heard there is an A15 with fuel injection for sale in wynyard.

Tracspec, 15's are proberly your best bet, as rims are cheap and easy to get. The best way to go, used to be the Tarmac rally boy's, they used 15's on early Evo's and WRX's but most of them have gone to 17's( ?) which you could still use. They usually update before each event with the latest and greatest so there are old ones floating about. Scando might be worth a talk to re old Circuit racing tyres, most of the classes have to use a semi slick. If you want new, Silverstone make a great semi slick for around $200 each in 15's and a lot of the rest are around $300-$400 mark each new. As for which brand to buy, they all work well and are are a huge step over road type tyres. Devonport Performance tyres sponsers the NWCC's Black Tack series, and are the guys to talk to re race tyres, and they would have there finger on the pulse re 2nd hand stuff floating about. It would be best to mention that you were planning on doing a few events, and looking for something to get you started. I'll keep an ear out for you as well. Shift work sux hey Wombat......

I run 15 X 7 but I run mine until they're slicks so I don't have any second hand tyres sorry. I think a lot of the improved production cars run 15 X 7's. Most of the Evo guys run 17 X 7's now and most of the Skylines run 16 X 8's. 16 X 8's could be a good choice under a Bluebird. They've got big wheel arches so they should fit. Going new is a good option if you can afford it. The Bridgestones I run cost about $300 a tyre and I use the hardest compound so I get a full season out of them so it works out at less than $200 a meeting which is pretty good. Matt Grace with the 1200 coupe has just switched from Yokohama's to Toyo's and rates the Toyo's very highly. They're quicker and only cost him around $200 a tyre. Most people seem to say Dunlops are the best but are also the most expensive and seem to wear the quickest.
Like Bluerat said, any semi-slick will be a massive improvement over normal road tyres.

i think group n people would probably have the best second hand advans as they can afford a new set of tyres every now and then dont know what size wheels they run tho

Maybe you can use custom plates for SI? ? would they just have to start with SI?? EG: SIck Z, SI mple, SI lly, SI gone, SI mon, etc etc, well, in fact you would run out of idea's pretty quick....anyway I was looking at full rego anyway, with the price of deisel and all, the Crusier is getting pretty scary to run, so I was looking into running four model aircraft engines in the 1600, one on each wheel, when I can get the guy at the rego office to stop laughing and give me an answer on legalities...... On a more series note......dont forget the Hellyer Rally is on next weekend, with a special guest Datsun 1600 coming over from Vic, with a young Rallying super star driving....watch this space and look out Baldric.....

Stick with the diesel m8 nitro 4 model engines is about $20 a litre so you will prob get a few extra miles out of your cruiser for 20 bills but was a good idea lol.
