Yeah, Benny's the man. There was a great shot of him in Aust. Rallysport news, on full lock, half way around a long corner, waving and looking at the camera.....I'm sure Balders has plenty more!
Had a good day at Symmon's. I've never done so many lap's in my life. I took 50l of fuel and ran out!!! It was great to meet Boost and catch up with Wombat and BMS again, even scored a sticker. The brakes worked a treat, no fade. It seem's like to small a brake master cylinder was the problem all along...only took 5 years to find it!!! dont always trust what you are told, and double check everything!! The handling was a lot better, no more 'wheelbarrow full of walrus's' trait's anymore. I've got to learn SOME throttle control though, as most of the understeer was right boot indused, squeeze it dont stamp on it. Sound's like Boost's 1600 will be a bit of a beast, and I'm looking forward to seeing it....Wombat's even asking how much licences are these day's......AND I got to race against a Aston Martin Vanquish......well he took off into the distance and I disapered in his rear veiw mirror....at about $100,000 a second.

Glad to hear the old girl is stopping and handling again. How were your lap times? Back down to where they should be? A couple of my mates were talking about an Aston Martin the other day that was in at Whitey's getting a cage put in it. I wonder if this is the one? They said it was a very nice bit of gear. What sort of times was it doing?

The Aston is a road car, owned by a well known Dental surgen, who also has a new 911 and Elfin Clubman (old '60's model) and loves his racing. I hav'nt seen the results yet, but I think it was doing eight's. As for my times, we are now back to where we finished with the old shell, which sounds shocking I know, 12.08, I'd love to get it under 10's........might need a six??? or a driver transplant. Keen to get back up there soon....hopefully we might see 510racer?
As for the Kart track, we will know next week after the inspection, the CAMS paperwork is in, and the Hillclimb is well underway!!! The boy's in the green Escort are pumped!! better pull your finger out.........

Do the Blueys have adjustable radius rods like the 1600's and 240Z's datsunlimited? If so then then wind a bit of castor into it. It's free and easy and should get rid of a bit of understeer. Just might mean you'll need a couple more weet-bix for breakfast to be able to steer it Just bolt a turbo setup on it like Damo's 180BSSS Bluerat. That should get you round there in under 10's When's the next club day at Symmons? If my car leaves Baskerville without anything bent or broken then I'll be looking to whip out the 3.9 diff, bolt in a 3.7 and head up to Symmons on the first or second weekend of March. I figure it might help if I do some practice on the track before I try to race on it!

If you wind the nut on this out it will push the outer end of the suspension arm and the bottom of the strut forward and give you castor. I'm not good at explaining things so that probably sounds like jibberish. I'll try to remember to take photo on the weekend to show you. That's a nice photo Boost. It's defiantly sitting a bit nice than the photos from the last clubday Bluerat

Thank's Boost, the answer to your question is......no, or I'd have had the boy's under there cranking that back as well!, but it is on the list....The photo's a ripper, no wonder I get a sore neck, I might have to lower the seat. You better get the '68 up and running and come and run Highcleare the week after next, drag Marty up as well, Karen is coming up anyway to run the show, and Curly would give a few of the quick boy's a scare in the GTR!! Got any more photo's? purely for research mind you....
Dont kick to hard Baldric!
As for the next clubday, I have not got a calender yet, (has anyone??) so not so sure, LCCT's next one is later on in the year, as is ours. As for the diff, dont change it until you try a program on the NWCC's site, gearcalc, I think it is called. It's very good, if you get my drift...
DatsunLTD, go to SB&C in Cooee, get a wheel alignment, and ask them for every thing to be two's, 2mm toe in, 2 degrees -ve camber and 2degree's posative caster, and to get the strut bender out....tighten your handbrake and pump up your front tyres to something silly like 45lb's plus, then again, my car understeers like a pig!!

Shame about the XR GT, I thought I was doing alright, until It blew up!! good looking car though. I'd love a copy of them thank's Boost, We'll have to catch up! Did you get any of the P76?? On the way home we were talking about fitting all that under the 1600...Turbo Lexus V8, Supra 5 speed, Jag rear end, inboard disc's and 12 inch slicks, what do you think??, I just happen to have a spare shell?? Hey Wombat, did you rush home and do some work on the Cherry?? What size is that busted window, I have some spare perspex.......

Might be a good idea to take Bluerat's advice Datsunlimited and take it to SB&C. At least you'll know where it's all at then? What does the 2mm tow in do Bluerat? I know we always used to run a little tow out if anything on the karts to get a bit more bite on turn in. Used to run about 10mm toe out in the wet I'll check out that gearcalc program on the NWCC website. Do you think the gearing might not be too different? The 3.9 gives me about dead on 200kph at a bit over 6000rpm in 5th at Baskerville. The rev limiter is at 6500 and I thought the top speed would be a bit higher at Symmons? They Leyland P76 sounds awesome! Was it as quick as the list of goodies suggests?

Na I didnt get to do any work on the car I had to get home and get ready for work the next day. Got to work and had to do 6 shifts instead of 4. (dont they know I need my days off to work on the car).
I did find out that The Vanette that was at the servo in Rosebery is still alive. its just sitting on Death Row waiting for the crusher to come down to Rosebery. I am in the process of doing a deal for all the running gear out of it (A15, Gbox, Diff, etc).
The P38 (only half a car) seemed to have the straight line speed but was very twitchy out of corners. It did sound bloodly good though. I liked the guys answer when I asked him why he cut a foot out of the car and rejoined it. "because I had two bad cars and wanted one good car"

Bluerat: The window is roughly 480mm x 810mm and 4mm thick. Let me know what you have and how much you want for it.
