I think those rover V8's have been chucked in just about every light weight car imaginable! A couple of seconds would be nice but if it gets me a couple of tenths I'll be happy, hopefully might settle that back end down a little bit anyway. I figure the BRE guys wouldn't have just had it for looks so it must do something! That event sounds like fun, might be something I'll have to look out for. My long weekend will be pretty casual I reckon. Bit of work on the car and listen to the hottest 100 count down tomorrow, cricket saturday and fcuk knows for sunday. Good luck with that trout Bluerat. All I've ever managed to do when I've gone to the lakes is get legless

Hello dat maniacs, just popped in again for an update. the big block is on a stand mostly in bits, head, front cover and sump are off. the chain tensioner assy and chain guides are ROOTED! all chewed up esp the tensioner which is cracked and shit and the spring was bent (ill post pics soon) its possible that it was bent and shoved back in causing excessive wear. but i can buy those bits new , otherwise its pretty sweet. cedric has been wired up for the efi and the more i play with it the easier fitting an l6 seems to be, i need a radiator made for it as the in/out are on the wrong side. and 120y wagon leaf springs go straight in the back of the coupe!

Datsunreal, sound's like the Cedric is all to easy, why dont you drop in one of those BMW V12's in it, that was on Top Gear tonight in the Zonda!! Sounds like the six will fix. Dont buy a radiator, buy some copper pipe!
Hey Scando, Wombat's got a XY GT rear wing in stock, considering they worked on the Falcon, it would work wonders on the Z?? Mind you you have to match it up with a Shaker for the best aero results!
Want to see a genuine tough Z?? Look up 'Big Sam' driven by Win Percy in the 70's

Good to hear the L28 isn't too bad Datsunreal. It'll be great to see how it goes when you get it running. Those Zonda's are awesome. Not the prettiest thing in the world but it would definatly be my pick out of the three they had on there. XY GT wing would be interesting. I could have also had a carbon fibre wing off of one of Crick's old sport sedans for free! That definatly would have done something but I don't think it would really fit in with what Targa class is all about I had a read through that article on Big Sam. Sounds like it was a pretty good thing. I wish mine weighed 914Kg!

And rev'ed to 9 grand!!
Man, you have got the contact's....Every thing looking good for the 25th Feb?, I've had a little parts delay, but hopefully I'll make a trip to the clubday on Sunday.
If it all falls into place, the Smithton spectacular will be on the weekend of the 24/25th of March. I'm just getting the paperwork underway now, and the major hold up will be a CAMS track inspection on the Kart track, and I'll have to double check on the dates with the Kart club etc. The Hillclimb will be on no matter what, and if the Kart day fall's in a heap we will do it at another date later on in the year.
Wombat has until April the 15th to get one of his front wheeled drive wonders ready for the Motokhana at Wynyard, and hopefully I'll have 'Black Betty' rat in attendence, along with the blue one!
And anyone out there wanting to try gravel Rallying, we are holding a Novice, come and try, Rally on the 12th of May up here on the Coast, we had one in '05 and it was a ripper. No fancy licence, and your car just has to be rego'd and of course safe!! We will also be sneaking a Khanacross in there as well.
So hop to it, no excusses.....you dont need anything fancy to have some fun.

LOL, the wing wasn't actually from Crick. It's hanging on a wall in Kerry's sports sedan workshop. Speaking of which I'm pretty sure the rumor about him and the Camaro was just that, a rumor. He does however have a new sports sedan underway which should be absolutly awesome. I don't know if it'll be quick or not but it'll be the toughest looking car on the track if that counts for anything I'll tell you more about it when it's finished. Everything is looking good for the 25th................except my wallet. So why do we do this to ourselves again? I think I'll have to give the 24th/25th a miss. The 2nd round of the series is on at Symmons the weekend after and I don't want to have to try to fix a broken car in a week! You would think the kart track should pass the CAMS inspection. It's gotta be safer hitting a tyre barrier in a car than a kart! What's the parts hold-up? Brake bits? I might have to come up to that Motokhana in April just to see you try to drive two cars at once. Would definatly be worth a look I'd also like to be there the first time Wombat turns up in a Cherry just to see the "what the f**k is that thing?" reactions from everybody. Should be a decent thing on the tight little courses too!

So Kerry is building a Chev powered 1600 then???
No hopefully I'll have a works driver in the Black one for the Khana, why dont you run the Val?, or you might have something else by then. Wombat should cut a track in the Cherry, he used to do well in the worlds worst looking Pulsar( I've got some photo's somewhere).Shame about the Smithton event, but I can understand not wanting to be beat by a HQ Monaro?, or a Valiant Sigma!! The 'Bit's' turned up today, and have been bolted in, nothing to spectacular, just a Cylinder. As for you wallet, just buy a new one?
Jesus Wombat, I'm still fending off questions about new engines, dont start rumors about a whole new car!!, although I do like the wing, and it's only eight grand.
And Dattaslimitedetc, If I get a funny feeling in my bottom I use Rectonal, It works a treat. $6.95 a tube from you local chemist.

LOL, I've just been sitting in front of my computer for about ten minutes trying to stop laughing so I could write this post! Don't worry Datsunlimited In know the feeling you're on about. When I got out of the car after a wet race at the meeting I did last year one of my mates commented that however much it had cost me to be there it must have been worth it by the smile on my face. So how's that rear suspension coming along? I've just been reading an article on aerodynamics in that 'RACE' magazine that Bluerat put me onto and as silly as that wing looks it could actually be very effective. I reckon Bluerat's already trying to find a mould for it I'd say Kerry's new project will be Chev powered Bulerat but unfortunatly not a 1600. It'll be good though, trust me I'd love to have a crack at the Smithton kart track in a car but not this time. I hope somebody on here takes a video camera up there though, I'd love to see a HQ Monara going around that track. I'm tipping it might involve a lot of smoke! A kart track would be perfectly suited to a Cherry too.

What do you mean the worlds worst looking Pulsar??? that little beast won me the 1999 "C" Class Tasmanian championship.
BlueRat: Is there any truth to you being spotted at the Wynyard airport trying to get hold of another wing and checking if they kept spare engines for the planes here in Tassie?
Scando: lets just say I am looking into work dates and event dates then I may just turn up at one of the events or two. Maybe even compete. No promises though.

Wombat, Yeah I found a spare Jet turbine, bugger fuel economy!! maybe I could tow you behind it with a parachute on?? you would pull some funny faces then!!! he he....
Work's driver, I was thinking along the lines of Stig Blomqvist, Walter Rohrl or Hannu Mikkola now that Shekhar Mehta is no longer with us... I've put the word out, hopefully I'll get a phone call soon, I'd settle for Geoff Portman, Colin Bond or Hugh Bell if my international choices don't come to fuitition! I'm sure the lure of a standard matt black 1600 will get them in, oh yeah I'll chuck in a full NWCC hamburger lunch and a soft drink of there choice. Tempting I know......
hhhmm Green Escort.....

I heard the Stig from Top Gear was looking for a Sponsered drive. But it will cost you 2 burgers and a bottle of Moet.
Geoff Portman would be great to see especially after watching his How to rally drive video.

Jet engine and a Boeing 747 wing for downforce, I think you're onto something there Wombat, I'm taking notes. I wanna see some photos of this Pulsar! If I make the trip all the way up from Judbury I'll expect to see a Cherry in action So what bits are you missing Datsunlimited? I'm sure Walter could tie it in with his annual trip down for targa Bluerat. Pitty it's a 1600 not a Bluebird though. If you could tell him it was a 910 you might trick him into thing it was a porsche

Heres what my SSS looked like.this is the car I used to win the C class Championship with. Maybe Bluerat was talking about my short lived atempt at a motokhana special. An N10 with as much junk and panels taken off it as I possibly could. I was going to do the cut and shut on it but I ended up scraping the project.

Sorry Wombat, I forgot about the triple s, I was talking about the N10, that thing was bad!!
Aaahh yes the rare and beutiful Porsche 910. The boxiest Porker ever built!! Yes Walter would be my first choice.....Other than Dennis Lillie, he is the only person I have ever got a autograph off, he signed my 82/83 Rallycourse book...aahh the memories....I dont think 'Mr. inch perfect' would be happy in a dodgy old Rat. Maybe I should look closer to home. I've often wondered if the TopGear Stig was named after the real Stig?? The real Stig is the most off the planet driver you will ever see!! backwards every where, reminds me a bit of Baldric!!

You're old SSS looks nice Wombat. I kinda wanted one of them when I bought my Lancer but I'm not a big fan of front wheel drives and I couldn't find one at a decent price. I want to see some pics of this N10. Sounds like a beast! I want to see Baldric in action. Sounds like he has a bit of a dip. Then again the photos of his jump kinda back that up So how did the club day go Bluerat? Did the new and improved stopping power work? Datsunreal, if you want to come and have a look at how the turbo setup on the Z works like we talked about a while back then I should be at Baskerville this sunday so it'd be a good oportunity since it's not too far from your place. I'll confirm later in the week if I'm definatly heading out. I'm also racing there on the 25th if you can't make it this sunday.
