Datsunreal or Blue Rat: Can you please see is the BRE book has a 10 digit ISBN number on the back cover or inside the first couple of pages. It should read: ISBN-********** If it has that number then I can find out if it is still possible to get a copy from anywhere in the world through my old work. If not then I might take you up on that offer of the photocopying it datsunreal.
Bluerat: The car is completed. I took the log book application up to Terry Curtain at the CAMS office yesterday. I'll be posting off my entry form tomorrow so all is set for the 13th. Can't wait!

Thanks. I think I'll have to get a copy. Sounds like it could come in very handy. Umm, don't think it's log booked as anything. The only thing it goes close to is 3J if I put some of the interior back in and add the inlet restrictor. Other than that I think the only thing it would qualify for is sports sedans.

I also am wimping out of the Clubday on Sunday due to some major brake problems that surfaced at the Minna Hillclimb, last Sunday....oh well maybe next time. Have a good day at Baskerville??? your times looked good...

510 Racer: I did see that yellow 1600 there and it was at the last round at symmons too. It never sounds to be running properly though, always sounds to be breaking down at high revs. My times didn't really come down at all through the day, my best in the final was a 1:02.3. Everybody else seemed to get slower for some reason though. I got up to 9th in the final which was 3rd for my class and I was catching Cannan in the red 930 turbo but then I blew a turbo hose off! That 1600 you're buying sounds good. It'll be interesting to see what it goes like once you get it all together.
Bluerat: How did you go in the Minna Hillclimb? Did you get any decent runs in before your brakes started playing up? I had an absolute ball at baskerville, especially the wet race I had. I should be able to afford to run one more of the baskerville rounds left this year so I can't wait for that. We were a little dissappointed that my times didn't come down at all but happy with the way it performed compared to the cars I'm up against. we now have a long list of things to do that should improve the times and make it a bit easier to drive. Luckily the people who are sponsoring me and helping me out are all pretty excited after seeing it out there and are all offering to do stuff or buy stuff so it shouldn't cost me too much.
So who are you going over to the muscle car masters with? What sort of car do they have?

3rd of September datsunreal, a meeting sound like a good idea. It'd be good to go and watch 510racer. Mick Williams will be running his yellow 240Z there too.

THE TENTH.....You ripper....I'm off and not in Sydney.
Brakes really didn't effect my times,..got a good gearbox...., The old girl went two seconds quicker than last year, even with the gumby behind the wheel driving like his Grandmother. plenty of scope for next year...But I did win my class and nailed some very posh looking BMW's....
Brakes should be fixed soon.....
Catch ya

Sorry Scando, I dont read things to well, i'm off to the masters to help out John Zeigler, who you might know, he races a 68 Camaro in Nc, and I'm going up with a mate I sometimes navigate for, Roger Carter, who has a Chev powered HQ Monaro named Molly. I love my Datsun, but nothing beats a 500hp small block at 7500rpm.....I'll say g'day to Brocky for you, and with a bit of luck, David Bowden will give me $100,000 for the 1600, maybe??
510Racer, your new toy sounds trick, R200 usually means it's got a bit of power! I better look out..how far away is it??? and is it a local car or from the mainland?

Is Zeigler the guy that just finished building the Camaro up recently? I'd heard people talking about a guy from the North that was building one for Nc and was expected to be a pretty awesome thing.
So Molly would be the car they refer to on the NWCC site then. I tried to have a look at the videos of the hill climbs on there but I only have dial-up at home and flash is disabled at work.
Well done in the Minna hillclimb. What's the class you run in? Under 2ltr NA cars?

John finished his car early last year, and has run some open meetings late last year and this year. but has has some brake drama's, which he has now sorted out. The car is a ripper, very nice bit of kit!!! And it's a shame about your internet, The video's are worth a watch!!! and yep it was the semi-tiddler class 1600 - 2000cc or class 'B' in technical talk.

Yeah, not a bad read is it. It's a shame we dont have access to the Comp. parts listed in the back!!
Eastern Creek was great...as far as Datsuns went there was the ex-Fred Gibson Nissan collection there including the Turbo Bluebird, early to late skylines, Godzilla and a lone 1600 running in Nc which expired on Saterday, before I could have a chat. It's an eye opener, when you see Group C log booked Geminis going for $85,000 and Phase 3 GTHO Falcons selling for $400,000 man o man. The Gemini in question was no more up spec than a 'mild' road car and was lapped every race!!! although it did have a group C log book........When I re-shelled my 1600 I didn't cut it up to much, as the intention was to go Nc one day with it, but looking around, and doing some more research, the rules dont let you use any of the 'good' gear, and you are hobbled by using a 1600 block etc....a backwards step to what I have now...BUT when we went to the historics at Mallala last year a 240Z was dominating the Sc class....food for thought... Any news on the Domain Hillclimb, I was told they had a full field, and missed an entry, so I didn't rush putting the brakes back together. Hope it all went well.....
