"Sound's like a tough LJ, what do you mean 'It was no good on the dirt!!!' ? your a very brave man to even try!! did you run a 308 or Chevie?" It started off with a 350 chev that ran on six cylinders when I bought it, I stuck in a 253 then copied a 308 a mate was running in an LX, ran it in in a HX ute (13 flat) before the LJ, gearbox was a saginaw kept the banjo, was great fun on dry bitumen..... dunno if Qld any better now but it used to attract cops from out of the woodwork in '88,'89. Little wonder I ended up with a Volvo for a while after that!

Your 1600 ,ricecutter must have been pretty special, to want to get rid of the LJ? Being QLD was Willowbank your track of choice?
Hey Scando, you better watch out!!! Ive been visiting another mate this week, and had a look at his R31 coupe, which did 61's at Symmons first time off the tralier, during the last open meeting. until engine troubles. Very nice bit of gear.

That's a nice time, especially first time off the trailer! Is he still running an RB20 or has he got something more serious in there?

Top Secret Scando, but it was an RB20 block!!, and sorry Wombat, like all good car's it's only got one seat, but as you know, he loves a chat.
Scando, shame about not running the clubday, My Sister has just finished her financial planning ticket, I could try and get you the answers, and then you can run?

If there's a club day at Symmons before the first open meeting next year then I might come up to lear the track.
That's a bloody good effort from an RB20 block. Is it still a 2 litre or a touch more?

Jan, Feb March events are always cloaked in darkness, as the calender does not come out until April!!!, should be better his year, with a bit of luck. Would you like to run the Zed around the Smithton kart track??? We are hoping to run a couple of events there next year! Roger did a demo in Molly Monaro at a kart clubday, therefor any thing can fit!! and had a ball. You should know the track.

Getting a Monaro around Smithton kart track would have been interesting! Those S's up the top are bloody tight, not to mention the last hairpin! would be heaps of fun though You should try to organise an event at the kart track and a hillclimb up there on the same weekend to make the 6 hour journey towing a car trailer from Judbury worth while, hint hint.

Yep, that is the plan, we will try and have a 'Smithton Motorsport spectacular!!!!' maybe the track on Sat and the Hillclimb on the Sunday, and organise a dinner/BBQ on the Sat. night. Molly was unleashed at a Kart Clubday, in the rain. People are still talking about it!! Roger was sceptical about it before hand, but now he can't wait!! we also sent up two clubman's who also thought it was great.

Sounds like a great plan. Let me know when it'll be on. You didn't need to mention that it was at a kart club day in the RAIN. Is it ever not raining in Smithton?

Just did the first draft of next years calender, and looks like the last weekend in March. We haven't heard back from the Kart Club yet, re permission, but have been in contact with them.
I was a little upset Thursday night, after we were informed at 4.00pm that the cluday's must be cancelled due to track repairs had not yet been completed, for the up and coming Touring Cars!!! good news is we should be having it on the 18th of Nov.

I reckon I'll be keen to come up to Smithton then as long as it's not to close to any rounds of the super series. I went to a meeting the other night about the structure for Targa class for next year and you'd best tell Nev to watch out for an incredibly bright Datsun cause we'll be in the same class That's a bugger about the club day, damn AVESCO always have to f*ck everything up to get theor way. 18th sounds good though. I might come up for a look but I won't bring the car up.

Yeah, I was keen to run the Mini CC clubday at Baskerville on Sunday after the cancelation, but the wife booked the Cruiser to tow the Horse around!!!, one must be fair with ones tow car!!
Great about Smithton, I'll keep you informed, as for Nev, he's not one to back down from a challenge, should be on for young and old. Remember Commadore panels are a lot cheaper than Z panel's!!

Yeah, I reckon he has at least one of just about every part from a 240/260/280 somewhere in his shed.
I got very excited when I saw that R30 in the for sale section, it sounded like the perfect parts bin for me on wheels. But it turns out it hasn't got most of the stuff I wanted (in particular a long nose R200 LSD)
